[Winry appreciates good food. Perhaps not as much as a certain prince back home but still.

The barrista brings over their food and smiles, making sure they have everything they need before leaving them to eat.]

There are so many different things here. It's really fascinating!

[Gosh, her enthusiasm could be exhausting...]

[Well, her enthusiasm certainly made a change from other people that Bela knew.]

All part of the experience of being in this place.

[Bela reaches down for the bag she put down on the ground, setting it on the middle of the table.]

This is for you. It's a collection of alchemy books from my shop.

Oh - oh, thank you, Bela! That's really kind of you!

[She's so pleased.]

[She takes a sip from her drink.]

Excellent. [Bela gives her a smile.] Do you enjoy the work you do here?

Mm. I work for Tony Stark's company. It's really great!

And what kind of company is it?

He runs an engineering tech studio. [Well, it's certainly bigger than any shop Winry's ever seen. Maybe God Studios back home, but she's never had the honor to visit.]

I work in the development and design department but I'm really doing what I did back home - build arms and legs for people who need them.

[Winry hesitates but it's more to catch her breath. This part really excites her.] I've been working on designing an eyeball for people who can't see!

[It would appear that Winry was doing something really worthwhile in this place. Good on her. Bela wasn't that kind of person.]

That sounds very exciting and a good project to work on. You've also got the skills for it so you might as well make the most of them, yeah?

I hope I'm doing a good job with it. I'd rather help people, encourage them to do better.

Nothing wrong with that. Other people could probably learn something from your example.

[Winry takes a drink and considers that for a few seconds before answering Bella. She's quite serious when she does.]

I guess I don't feel I am. There are a lot of people back home who do what I do. I may have different ideas on how things should be designed or how they might work but I'm building on the designs of generations who came before me.

So you're carrying on their work in a sense. I still think that's important, even if other people started the work. And if you have different ideas, it's a good thing. Maybe you will think of something that they haven't and invent it.
